BREATHE

Every journey home to yourself begins with a single, steady breath.

Here, at Green Hammock, (greenhammock.life), each inhale and exhale becomes a soft landing—an invitation to arrive fully in the present.  This is a place to pause, to connect to the self gently.

This is where we begin.  The first arc of all of our programs unfolds through grounding and breathwork. Through mindful breathing, stillness unfurls, and meditation becomes more than a practice; it becomes the doorway into spontaneous, wholehearted, joyful living. As the body settles and the mind clears, a quiet alignment emerges—where our values meet our authentic selves. And from this place of presence, space opens for what blossoms next: align.

Sama Vritti: Balanced Breathing

Cultivates inner equilibrium

Inhale through your nose
for a count of 4-8.

Exhale for the same count.

Repeat 3-4 times.

Like the tide, breathe in.

Like the tide, breathe out.

Centering with Sama Vritti

Sama Vritti is a Sanskrit phrase meaning balanced flow.  In the yoga tradition, it invites you to match the length of your inhale and exhale, a quiet rhythm that steadies the waves of your mind.

Like the tide arriving, like the tide returning—breathe in, breathe out.  Each step equal and whole.

Practiced within Green Hammock guided meditations, Sama Vritti becomes a gentle metronome for presence and a return to  stillness.  In this pause, we begin to see ourselves clearly again, and from this space, our choices rise from what we truly value.

Only from here—centered, honest, clear-minded—can we open the door to Align
